Abstract

The gain-switched DFB (distributed feedback) pulse source was obtained at 10 GHz repetition rate with the DFB laser diode chips that are made in China. The optical timing jitter is reduced to 840 fs by using the self-seeding injection based on a simple structure. The self-injection seeding sensitivity to the variations in temperature and modulating frequency was measured. The 5 ps pedestal-free Pulas generation is achieved by utilizing normal dispersion compensation and a Comb-like dispersion profiled fiber compressor.
