Abstract

To demonstrate the decay rates of bioaerosols by upper-room UVGI and room conditions, a field experiment was developed. Settings of the UVGI and non-UVGI classrooms were switched weekly through as eight-week measurement. The fluorescent bioaerosol concentration was measured as the primary parameter for analysis. The fluorescent bioaerosol concentrations in UVGI room show higher decay rates. And smaller size of fluorescent bioaerosol shows higher decay rates comparing to larger sizes. The disinfection by upper room UVGI, along with other unmeasured factors may contribute to the results together.
