Abstract

Proper timing, meticulous surgery, and careful reapproximation of tissue are mandatory to an early pleasing result in management of the cleft lip and palate, but the proper application of interceptive orthodontics is necessary to assure the balanced growth of these structures into a well-proportioned adult facial profile.
