An optical fiber tip pressure sensor for medical applications

Abstract

An all fused silica based pressure sensor with a 125μm diameter is presented. A Fabry-Pérot interferometer is formed at the fiber tip. It offers biocompatibility, miniature size, high sensitivity, EMI immunity, and low cost.
