Abstract

We reviewed our experience with reconstruction of the biliary tract to determine the safety of this procedure in the immunocompromised liver transplant patient. Reconstruction of the biliary tract can be safely performed in the immunocompromised liver transplant patient. Our overall morbidity rate of 12.4% and mortality rate of 1.0% compare favorably with recent reports of biliary reconstruction in nonimmunocompromised patients.
