Abstract
Changes in soil profile nutrient levels following manure applications provide insight to the potential for nutrient accumulation, leaching, and their efficient use. Differences in soil chemical composition may arise from the use of injection systems as compared to surface applications. In order to make the most efficient use of liquid injection systems, more research is needed in determining the potential availability of plant nutrients from injection bands. The objectives were to ascertain the changes in soil concentrations of N, P, and K from various rates and number of annual applications of injected liquid manure as compared to commercial fertilizer.
