Abstract

To the Editor: Weinberg and Murray, in their Sounding Board piece “Coping with AIDS” (Dec. 3 issue),* decry “the lack of any flexibly designed program for out-of-hospital … care [for] patients with chronic diseases.” With particular reference to patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), they state that “there are few facilities available to receive such patients in New York City.” Without commenting on the number of out-of-hospital facilities in New York, we wish to call attention to the comprehensive program operated by Visiting Nurse Service of New York.
