Abstract

Systematic studies were carried out to determine the effects of substrate temperature on the evolution of Co(110)/Cr(002) texture and its correlation with magnetic properties. Both x-ray rocking curve and 0-20 scans were used to investigate the Co(110)/Cr(002) texture. TEM pictures for selected films enabled to understand the evolution of structural grain size and its correlation with magnetic grain size. Magnetic properties were measured for all films, hence making it possible to determine the correlation between structure and magnetic properties.
