Abstract

Understanding the process of developing variable rate fertilizer prescription maps is a critical component of precision agriculture. This chapter also describes some of the technological issues in prescription map development, though many technological factors will be software and hardware specific. Additional information about different fertilizer choices is available in chapter 10, determining the economic optimum fertilizer rate is available in Chapters 11 and 15, and identifying management zones is available in Chapter 7.
