Abstract

The development of a training needs assessment instrument for mental health professionals working in corrections is discussed along with the results of the assessment. Differences between perceived needs for training and self-expressed knowledge of training topics and areas among psychiatrists, Ph.D. clinical psychologists, MA-level psychologists and others who work with adult offenders are provided along with recommendations for training.
