N2 - The influence of interior and surface flaws in Z-shaped adhesive joints of carbon/epoxy wind turbine blades is examined using finite element method. Contour integral method is used for evaluating the stress intensity factors at the flaw tips, while the strength of the joint is assessed through the crack initiation and propagation simulation. The effect of adhesive shear modulus has also been investigated.
