Abstract

This paper focuses on expressive rendering for CAD applications. According to the specific features of technical illustration, a region-based expressive rendering method for CAD is proposed. Its rendering engine is based on the interpretation of surface features, and the key algorithms to mimic various illustration effects on different surface polishes are presented in detail. An experimental system RETOUCH is implemented to demonstrate this approach.
