Abstract
Fusobacteria are gram-negative anaerobic bacteria that are opportunistic pathogens. They are found as normal flora in the upper respiratory, gastrointestinal, and genital tracts of humans and animals. They are involved, usually in mixed infections, in a variety of soft tissue infections. For current research articles on Fusobacterium and other anaerobic bacteria the journal Anaerobe (Elsevier Ltd.) is recommended.
