Gallium scan in sternal osteomyelitis

Abstract

Sternal osteomyelitis may occur secondary to hematogenous spread from a distant site, local mediastinal infection, or as a complication of thoracic surgery. A case of sternal osteomyelitis after median sternotomy is described.
