Abstract

A research project to develop a support system of geospatial analysis to enhance drought risk assessment and exposure analysis is discussed. Drought risk management involves the ability to provide early warning and to create more awareness of cropping systems and tillage practices to reduce agricultural demand for water. The discovery patterns in drought indices, crop phenology and soil characteristics are the major tasks to be fulfilled to achieve the projects goal. The new research investigates data mining and retreival, constraint databases, spatial analysis, visualization and data interpolation.
