Abstract

To the Editor: Physicians dealing with the hypercalcemia associated with cancer have long awaited an explanation of the pathogenesis of this syndrome in patients with carcinoma of the breast in the hope of being able to combat it more effectively. Thus, when we saw the title, ‘Ectopic Production of Parathyroid Hormone by Carcinoma of the Breast,’ in the July 15 issue of the Journal, we read the text in eager anticipation.
