Abstract
An indoor-simulation smart pesticide spraying system based on machine-vision was developed. A series of experiments and studies on some crucial problems, such as signal capturing, image segmentation, decision making, data transmitting, and so on, were carried out to predict the feasibility and reliability of the system. In this paper, a segmentation algorithm based on relative color indices was also put forward. Compared to the traditional algorithms, the new one has an equally good segmentation result and greatly shortens segmentation time. The system performed perfectly in the laboratory and is promising to be extended for outdoor application.
