Abstract

University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) faculty have committed to a broad use of educational technology from offering wholly online courses to replacing or supplementing classroom instruction. For the last six years UNMC has supported this faculty commitment with the funding of Learning Environment & Internet Services (LEIS), a unit of Information Technology Services. The LEIS team consists of twelve members, ranging in skills sets from Instructional Designer to WWW Technical Specialist. The team provides consultation design and technical support through an empowerment model.
