Abstract
The relative abilities of various ammonium cations to coordinate fluoride ion are revealed by two-dimensional heteronuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy. These studies show that the interaction of fluoride ions with diffuse cations such as tetrabutylammonium is significant even in polar aprotic solvents such as DMSO.
