Abstract

This chapter discusses laparoscopic transabdominal adrenalectomy. The authors review the indications and contraindications for this procedure. Patient preoperative historical factors, biochemical testing, and operative preparation are presented. The authors describe in detail the operative technique including patient positioning, port placement, and procedural steps with special considerations for left versus right adrenalectomy. Finally, postoperative care recommendations are reviewed.
