N1 - Funding Information: efficient amplification of the NPM/ALK fusion message. Another possibility is that there are fundamental differences between the patient populations. Either the diagnostic criteria for Hodgkin’s disease differ between the studies or there is a fundamental difference between Hodgkin’s disease in Europe and North America. Whatever the ultimate reasons for the differences, results suggest that t(2;5) is rarely if ever detected in cases of Hodgkin’s disease, and, furthermore, support the notion that Hodgkin’s disease and t(2;5)-containing large-cell lymphoma distinct clinicopathological entities.
