Magnetic coupling in Co/Cr2O3/CrO2 "trilayer" films

The magnetic coupling properties between Co and CrO2 ferromagnetic layers was examined through the stable insulating Cr2O3 surface of CrO2. Weak coupling was observed above the antiferromagnetic polytype Ne′el temperature of Cr2O3 through a dielectric barrier layer material. The results showed that polarization of defects within the barrier layer 16.21 could be one possible mechanism for coupling.
