Magnetic properties of longitudinally-oriented barium ferrite particles

Experiments are reported on the effects of variable packing, particle orientation, field orientation, and time decay of the magnetization. Several different types of barium ferrite particles were employed. Comparisons of the results with recent theoretical calculations are presented. Qualitative trends are in accordance with the theories but details of the magnetization reversal process remain to be clarified.
