Abstract

I grew up in a rural area, Mwanza Tanzania, and like many other girls coming from rural low-income countries, our stories could be identical. Growing up in rural Tanzania involves facing a lot of hardships to access basic needs including proper nutrition, health, shelter, education, and water. As a young girl growing up in rural sub-Saharan Africa, it is even more difficult despite some improvements we are seeing today.
