Abstract

The system presented is based on polyamic acid and polyamic acid ester as polyimide precursors. Weight fractions were varied from 10 to 90%. The resulting materials show domains of one phase in a matrix of the other. Phase separation occurs during mixing of the two precursor solutions and upon drying of the mixtures. Further phase separation occurs during curing. Composite materials with one cured and one uncured phase have been realized.
