Abstract

In this report, we introduce new organic photorefractive composites consisting of charge transporting dendrimers highly doped with a stilbene nonlinear optic chromophore. The purpose of making these composites is to improve charge transport, by reducing inhomogeneity when compared to ordinary polymer-based systems. Because the structure of this material gives us freedom to control the orientation of charge transport agents synthetically, we can study the charge transport mechanism more systematically than in polymers. We discuss this point and present the characterization results for this material.
