Abstract

With the increasing number of communication options available to severely dysarthric individuals, there is a growing need to develop techniques for the evaluation of nonvocal communication performance. A data collection and analysis system was developed in order to assess the performance of 2 nonvocal communicators. Records of entire messages were obtained along with durational measures of communication partner receiving time for each message, identity of the communication partner and location.
