Abstract

The role of miRNA in lymphoma remains to be fully elucidated. However, as we have observed from many hematological malignancies, the function of miRNA can directly affect tumorigenesis, disease progression, and pathophysiology. With improved understanding of miRNA, we can expand our diagnostic methods to improve the early identification of lymphoma, and ultimately inform prognostication to give patients clarity and a range of personalized treatment opportunities. This chapter highlights the incidence, prevalence, and existing data surrounding miRNA within lymphomas, with a special focus on B-cell lymphomas, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and splenic marginal zone lymphoma.
