Abstract

This article serves as an introduction to a Special Issue focused on the use of psychotropic medication with children and youth identified with psychiatric disorders and emotional and behavioral disturbance. In this editorial, we provide a brief summary of why research examining psychotropic medication use for children and youth is increasingly important and a brief background on what research to date has identified. We also provide a brief description of the manuscripts selected for inclusion in this Special Issue.
