Abstract
A brief review of recent developments in the research and technology of Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is presented. Attempts of developing deterministic and stochastic thermal models of the process are described. Experimental and theoretical/empirical estimation of surface integrity of machined components is discussed. An update of various methods of gap identification, monitoring, and control is also covered in this paper.
