Abstract

Reflectance-based crop coefficients provide real time inputs to irrigation scheduling models. Future research needs include studying the effect of different soil background reflectances on ET as well as on models that use spectral inputs, a search for base variables for crop coefficients to be used for different climates and varieties, and special software for the scheduling of large agricultural areas.
