Regenerated keratin fibers and their potential applications in textile and biomedical industries

Abstract

We report regeneration of protein fibers from poultry feathers and waste wool using green processes after more than two decades of research. There is potential to apply the technologies on highly crosslinked proteins, which are or will be largely available from agricultural and biofuel industries.
