In this national survey, parents of children with and without disabilities rank-ordered a number of strategies that schools, teachers, and parents could use to improve communication about and completion of students' homework. Surveys were collected from a national sample of 120 parents of children with disabilities and 400 parents of children without disabilities, all selected by teachers who had participated in previous research studies. Parents of children with and without disabilities were in substantial agreement about strategies for improving home-school communication. Specifically, parents agreed on strategies for increasing student responsibility and technologies for improving parent-teacher communication. Parents' rankings for improving school policy and the actions they could take to improve communication were also very similar. Only in two areas did parents differ bymore than one rank: the actions teachers could take to improve communication and suggestions for using technology. Their recommendations also match many of the recommendations generated by general and special educators in previous studies.
