Abstract

Fuzzy Composite Programming is used to conduct a risk-cost trade-off analysis under uncertainty for a simplified dredge material disposal problem. Uncertainties inherent in the components of the risk-cost analysis are characterized as fuzzy numbers and incorporated directly into the trade-off analysis. Consideration of important for multicriteria problems where objectives are in conflict (e.g., risk and cost) in order to avoid inferior solutions.
