Abstract
With the aid of the results of fluorescence measurements in defined spectral ranges (λ>660, 520 … 550, 420 nm) the concentrations of chlorophyll a, humic and fulvic acids as well as suspended solids in natural waters can be determined. The Chl‐a concentrations of blue‐green algae, green algae and diatoms are determined by specific sets of equations. A good correlation between Chl‐a and fluorescence was proved (r2=0.92). The spectrophotometric measuring technique applied can be used on mobile carriers such as ships, helicopters, so that larger water areas can be monitored. 1 … 25 μg/l Chl‐a at a standard error of 3 μg/l are given as the concentration measuring range.
