Spin structure at nanojunctions and constrictions

Abstract

The modification of spin structures by imperfections such as grain boundaries and nanojunctions was investigated. For thin films and plane surfaces, the decay was described by exponential functions, whereas for three-dimensional structures, modified spherical Bessel functions were employed. Results showed that the spin-dependent scattering depended on the geometry, size and the material of the boundary or junction.
