Abstract

The results of the dynamic detection of anion gap (AG) of 187 epidemic hemorrhagic fever patients who received a prospective randomized double blind placebo control ribavirin trial suggested that, during intravenous ribavirin therapy, there be more frequency of AG decreases, smaller height of AG increases, the milder severities of both the glomerular filtration rate decrease and the illness reflected by the AG increases, and the different causes of AG increase which are due to the frequency of AG increases caused by the increase of the serum concentration of Na+ going up and that by the decrease of the serum concentration of Cl- going down.
