Abstract
The role of the educator has undergone a significant change in the past five years as a result of educational technology. Educators in gerontology have not been immune to this change. The advent of technology in the gerontology learning environment creates both opportunity and challenge for the teacher and learner. Complex skills are needed to maneuver successfully as a leader or follower in this sea of change. The strengths and weaknesses of using technology in the classroom and skills for successful teaching and learning with technology will be discussed. Suggestions for enhancing the learning environment will be presented. [Article copies available for a fee from The Haworth Document Delivery Service: 1-800-342-9678.
