Abstract

This chapter discusses the potential applications of molecular genetics to the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The current state of the field is discussed in general terms with an emphasis on the limitations of current technologies and strategies, and the potential of molecular genetic diagnostics to impact diagnosis and management of pancreatic cancer in the future.
