Tuning coupled-cavity Linace RF cavities for SSC

Abstract

Coupled-cavity Linac tanks made in the Institute of High Energy Physics, is a part of SSC Linac. In this paper RF tuning procedure was discussed and typical results were presented. The fπ/2 of this cavity chain is regarded as the fπ/2 of the tank. The coupled cavities are approximately tuned and the accelerating cavities are accurately tuned. When tanks are connected with bridge couples, fpi/2 of the module is lower than that of the designed.
