Abstract

Definition Vasculitis refers to a clinically heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by inflam mation of blood vessels. Depending on the disorder, vasculitis may affect vessels of all sizes, including both arteries and veins. Vascular inflammation (primarily related to leukocyte migration and infiltration) leads to luminal narrowing of blood vessels resulting in clinical manifestations secondary to ischemic injury.
