Abstract

The paper deals with the estimation of probability of an erroneous decision for the optimum detection of the continuous phase binary FSK. In the paper the detailed consideration, for the case when the modulated signal pulses are not necessarily orthogonal, is presented. The optimum coherent detection of the continuous phase binary FSK general algorithm and the formulas making possible the estimation of the upper limit of the erroneous decision probability, according to the modulation factor and the normalized carrier frequency, are given. The diagram of the estimated upper limit of the error rates, for the different modulation factors is also given.
